For decades the Herbruck family has been supplying farm-fresh eggs to major retailers and food service outlets across the nation. Today’s business was founded by Harry and Marilyn Herbruck in Ionia County, Michigan — just east of Grand Rapids — in 1958, with roots stretching back to the late 1920s. March is Women’s History Month. Throughout March we have been highlighting some of the women at Herbruck’s who are EGGceptional.
Meet Carolina Pyper! Carolina came to Herbruck’s just over two years ago from a White Castle prepared foods plant near Dayton, Ohio. Carolina is the Food Safety & Quality Manager (FSQ) and oversees the FSQ team at all four Herbruck’s egg processing plants. Our customers require us to hold globally recognized food safety and quality management systems in our plants and Carolina leads each plant’s efforts under Herbruck’s chosen standard, Safe Quality Food or SQF. The Quality Team had a very good culture when Carolina joined Herbruck’s but she has improved it by building the team’s capabilities and reorganizing the team to give leadership responsibility to Quality Supervisors at three Herbruck’s plants. Carolina has good relationships with the Processing leaders and helps the Quality Team connect cross-culturally as a native Spanish speaker.
At Herbruck’s, we cherish the values of hard work, dedication, and supporting and empowering women in their careers every step of the way. Here’s to the women who shape our past, present, and future!
