SARANAC, Mich. – Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch has collected 5,000 pounds of non-perishable food items and other essentials to donate to community organizations that serve families in need.

In recognition of Hunger Action Month in September, the fourth-generation family business collected items donated by Herbruck’s team members and leadership throughout the month to be given to organizations in Michigan and Pennsylvania this week.

“One of Herbruck’s core values is caring for the communities we serve, and that mindset extends from our family members and leadership to our entire team,” said Amy Herbruck, public and community relations manager at Herbruck’s. “We are proud to offer these food and care items to local families and make their days a little bit easier.”

In Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, where Herbruck’s operates Blue Springs Egg Farm, food, household items and personal care items will be donated to My Neighbor’s Bounty, a local nonprofit that offers food and some basic essentials to people in need.

In Michigan, items will be distributed to Isaac’s Closet in Saranac; IM Kids 3rd Meal, an organization in Fenwick that provides children struggling with food insecurity with nutritious meals; the Saranac Community Church Food Pantry and Illuminate Church Food Pantry.

Food donations are one way Herbruck’s works to be a good neighbor to the communities it serves. Herbruck’s also supports the community through egg donations totaling more than 2 million annually, toy collections and contributions to local organizations throughout the year.
